The Meadows Racetrack and Casino Facility will debut their temporary slot facility on June 5, 2007, according to the officials of the racetrack. The casino facility is scheduled to open formally after 2 days of testing.
Pennsylvania Gaming Board Officials will carefully examine whether or not the casino is ready for its public opening and if there are still some problems that need to be resolved.
The profits that the Meadows Racetrack and Casino facility will generate on their test runs on June 1, 2007 and June 3, 2007 will be donated to the Washington Hospital and the Washington Food Bank. The Meadows Racing Track will host 1,738 electronic slot machines in their temporary slots facility.
A grand stand facility would also be taken down to make added space for an establishment combining both casino and live horse racing operations. The facility is expected to be completed by early 2009.
It has been the practice of most states and horse racing tracks to allow their racing tracks to offer slot machines and casino table games, mainly because they can attract more customers and revive the dying interest in the horse racing industry. It is also a way to equip the horse racing tracks to compete effectively with the other racing tracks in neighboring states.
